Mingled with Voids is a photographic series built around a set of rules and conducted during long, performative sessions. Each photo is taken in total darkness, capturing a fleeting reflection produced only with a handheld torch and a small mirror.
The act of taking the images is part of the artwork itself: reflections are erratic, motion blur is inevitable, and the total‑dark environment overloads the senses. All photos are developed in a DIY Caffenol solution rather than conventional developers. A choice that adds a layer of material unpredictability, giving the final prints their distinctive texture and tone.
The final images reveal blurry, hypnotic, and disorienting silhouettes, along with grainy voids that seem at once accidental and intentional.
